I hadn’t seen a lot of the usual suspects cover ‘workflow automation’ platforms and the funding and attention they have received recently in a holistic way, so I thought I’d do a quick back-of-the-napkin calculation to understand the number of dollars flowing into this realm.

What I found for the last 12 months (mostly 2020, but a few events in 2019), was over $2.2B in funding and acquisitions around workflow automation. That’s not all-encompassing, but here’s the spreadsheet. Feel free to leave a comment and I’ll update with more information as I receive it.
