A Review of Social Impact Organization Ashoka
About 8 years ago, I was working on Squidoo pages for a nonprofit organization called Ashoka (to learn more about Ashoka, visit my previous post). It has taught me a great deal about how to market for nonprofits on social media sites.
So far I have created five lenses, or pages; two being very specific and three being about a general topic (I would give out the links, but they are still works-in-progress). We thought that by creating helpful content, users could visit our Squidoo pages, Web sites and blogs for reliable resources and expertise.
As I already mentioned in my previous post about Ashoka, they have motivated a large following on Twitter, Facebook and other social sites. I can't help but admire them and how they have joined the discussion and become major collaborators, not only talking, but listening as well. Now Ashoka is becoming a leader and 'social library' for social entrepreneurism and nonprofits alike - something for all organizations to take a look at.
